How to use Google Lens on Chrome desktop: A step-by-step guide

Wondering where the image you are seeing on your PC came from? Here’s how to quickly search where the photo came from, extract text and find similar images using Google Lens on the desktop version of Chrome. Google Chrome has plenty of features, but some are so buried that you might have never heard about them. One of them is Google Lens, a hand image recognition tool that lets users search for any picture online and get more information about it. While Google Lens exists as an individual app on mobile devices, the tech giant also integrated it with its browser. Using Lens in Chrome, you can search for an image on the internet, see where it came from, extract text and even translate what’s written in the picture. How to use Google Lens on Chrome desktop 1. Open a page in Chrome and right-click on the image you want to analyze. 2. On the menu that appears, tap on ‘Search Image with Google’ and the results will automatically appear on the right side of the screen. 3. If you want search results to take up the whole screen, click on the expand button in the corner to make the results appear in a new tab. In case you are unable to right-click on a photo, right-click in an empty area on the page and choose the ‘Search Image with Google’ option. Now, you will be able to select a portion of the screen where the image is. Doing so will automatically open the Google Lens search panel. electing ‘Text’ can help you search the text in the image and use it to perform a quick web search or copy it to your clipboard. You can also select parts of the image you want Lens to extract the text from. Next is ‘Translate’, which as the name suggests lets users quickly translate the text in any image. Google will automatically scan the photo, extract the text and show the translated text on top of the original one. What if I want to search an image on my PC? However, if you want to quickly search an image from your computer, the process is a bit different.
